How To Tap Into Your Inner Strength

Hey beautiful ~ happy week 3 of TIU2021! Our theme this week is strength 💪

We talk a lot about building strength in our muscles (and we’ll have even more tips on that this week!), but today we want to focus on strengthening our mindset.  

In a workout, your mind usually wants to quit before your body does. You are stronger than you think! The key is tapping into that inner strength that’s already inside you! 

When you need an extra boost to push through a tough workout ~ or anything challenging in life ~ try these practices to remind yourself how powerful, capable, and strong you are! 

Remember how far you’ve come

It’s easy to get discouraged if something is out of your comfort zone or you can’t do a move (yet!). Remember, we all start somewhere. We weren’t born doing burpees...not even Chyna 😂 Think back to where you were at the beginning of your journey and the wins you’ve achieved along the way — just making time for a workout is a HUGE win! Reflect on all your victories, whether it’s showing up for a workout, trying a new routine, upping your weights, doing one more rep, feeling less winded or more energized. YOU did that, and you’ll crush the next challenge, too!

Talk to yourself 

When you’re working out, don’t listen to that little voice that says, “I can’t do that” or “I want to give up.” Instead, talk to yourself — with what you’d say to your best friend. Tell yourself, “You are so strong, you got this.” Your body will listen!

Tap into your WHY

What is the WHY behind your workout? Why did you wake up and roll out your mat? Was it to feel stronger and more confident in your body? Was it to release stress? Was it to set a healthy example for your family? Whatever your reason, hold onto that and keep it in the front of your mind throughout your workout. You can also write it down and display it in your workout space as a constant reminder. 

Draw on the strength of community 

So much of our strength comes from you, this TIU community. Whenever you need inspiration, all you have to do is scroll #TIUteam and #TIU2021 on Instagram or reach out to your accountability partners on this team.
