Ariel’s 4 Top Tips To Stay Healthy From Home

By Katrina Scott on

Hey gorgeous! Your Tone It Up trainer Ari here! Dropping in today to chat about achieving healthy balance during this crazy season of our lives.

As quarantine becomes our new “normal,” it’s so important for us all to check in with ourselves and make sure we’re consistently prioritizing our wellness. There are a lot of challenges that come with being at home so much — maybe your daily routine is off, you’re sitting more and moving less, you’re skipping meals or snacking more, or you’re juggling working from home and being a busy TIU mama. I know it’s A LOT!

But I also look at this time as a chance to create a new healthy routine that works for YOU! What worked before may not work now, and that’s OK. There will be ups and downs and nothing is going to look perfect, and that’s completely OK too. The key is finding your own healthy balance and staying as consistent as you can!

Today, I’m sharing four simple tips that have helped me navigate this time at home and maintain my healthy lifestyle.

What healthy habits have you been sticking to in quarantine? What new ones do you want to work on? Connect with me on IG @gymhooky and let me know so I can support you!

4 Tips To Maintain Balance During Quarantine

Prepare Your Meals Ahead of Time

Even though you’re not on-the-go as much, meal prep is still SO important and will keep you on track. Stick to planning your weekly menus on Sundays, purchasing groceries for the week (Target delivery is a lifesaver right now), and prepping your meals. Chop your favorite veggies and fruit for easy snack options. Prep dishes that can easily be reheated for lunches (Tray Bakes and Lean Bowls are amazing for this). Prepping in advance will make your week so efficient and save you from ordering all that takeout!

Schedule your TIU app workouts

Yes, add them to your calendar like you would a meeting. Whether it's before work, on your lunch break, or after the work day is over, just remember to move your beautiful body. If you don’t have time to do a full workout in the morning, consider breaking your exercise into small chunks throughout the day.

Check out the new Express On Demand channel in your TIU app.  These quick toning and cardio routines are all 10 minutes or less — perfect for your extra busy days!

Get Up And Move

Every hour or so, it's good to get up and stretch your body between periods of sitting. Sitting in front of a computer can be hard on your bod, especially your posture. Stand up and walk around during conference calls or take breaks to stroll around the house, get outside, do a few stretches, or lift some light hand weights. You can set a timer on your phone to help you remember.

Keep Hydrating

Place a bottle or a big cup of water by your computer or on your work desk, so you remember to stay hydrated throughout the day. Aim for half your bodyweight in ounces of water each day, and keep track on your phone or in your journal. Lil’ tip: Make sure to use a capped bottle or a cup with a lid so you don’t spill on your workspace!
