Life always throws some crazy curveballs. Or maybe even crazy is your new norm! So, how do you stay motivated in the midst of it all?

All of our stresses, while different, can manifest in very similar ways, whether it's sleeping later, skipping workouts, getting off your routine, eating poorly, or maybe just not feeling like yourself. We all share these challenges! I know it's tough and setbacks happen to ALL of us…I’ve actually been struggling with my workout motivation lately, so I'm looking forward to the BIKINI SERIES as much as you! As many of you know from what I've shared on social, I've become a caretaker for my mom's health, which a lot of us have had to do. But I'm getting through it and every day I learn more about myself, my strength, and finding peace.

The beauty of this community is the support system available to us every day. As women we are strong warriors that can overcome anything, but it's much harder to do it alone. Even though we all have our struggles, it's so much easier to stay motivated together.

Here are my tips to stay on track in times of stress! I hope these lift you up when you need it, too. :)

More than ever, now is the time to schedule your workouts!

Make sure to get your workouts in first thing in the morning. Set your alarm and just do it. You have it in you! If the morning just isn’t going to happen, find pockets of time in your day where you can fit something in. Maybe it’s even midday when you find a moment to squeeze a quick walk in. We always say that you need to take care of yourself first, so you're able to give your all to others.

Clear you mind!

Meditation is key, especially now! We need to slow the mind and set our intentions. If you're new to meditation, I love using apps like Headspace and Meditation Studio. You can even use your workout as your meditation. Just focus on your breath and being present. Feel the energy and movement of your body. For Kat, creating beautiful flower arrangements is her peaceful time. Read her post about how meditation means something different for everyone HERE

Get out in nature

This is a big one. Breathe in the fresh air and stay present by feeling the breeze and listening to the sounds around you. This practice has really helped me stay present and thankful recently. Just last week Kat and I went for a two hour walk, which is always so therapeutic. We love sharing those peaceful times together!

Make sure you keep doing the things you love

Whether it’s cooking your #TIUapproved dinner for your loved ones, taking a relaxing bubble bath, or making a DIY face mask, take care of YOU!

Let it be known and ask for help when you need it!

I’ve found that it’s so important to create a support system. Let those close to you know what you’re going through. Don't be afraid to ask...everyone in your life wants to help you! Bobby, Kat, friends, family, and this community have been such a support to me. Whether it's encouragement in my workouts, help around the house, or with my mom, I don’t know how I would do it alone. It also feels good to just let it all out!!

I hope these tips help you as much as they've helped me.

Have a beautiful day, and I'll see you on Instagram later @KarenaKatrina!

Lots of love,

Karena
